As a Sales Coordinator, your day will be action packed. It would consist of high paced variety and maintaining a very close relationship in supporting our Sales Account Managers by helping increase their efficiency to drive high importance results. A typical day would include 30% of your day working in photoshop, 30% in our ERP and CRM systems helping create and revise quotes, and 40% varying daily by assisting at different points in our process to help maintain an effective and successful sales force. Our team prides themselves on prompt responses and never forcing a customer to wait too long for us to get back to them, so, there will be a very high emphasis on rapid responses and time management based on incoming inquiries from our Sales team. Some of the varying tasks can include qualifying new leads, helping generate pricing/new quotations, adjusting/creating virtual images in photoshop, finalizing/adjusting order details, supporting customers with general technical data uploading inquiries, and helping cover for Sales Account Managers in their absence. Helping cover Sales Account Managers would include checking their emails, incoming calls, voicemails, and incoming system leads.
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
If you are qualified for this position, then you have enough experience to know that everything that we have to do to get our jobs done can’t possibly be listed. So, you’ll also need to be flexible, add some responsibilities / activities to the list that are needed to achieve the objective of the position.
Experience, of course. If you’ve already done this (what’s written above), that would be a real plus, okay a requirement (more than once would be really cool). We aren’t a large company, but we try to think big. So, if you’ve done big things on smaller budgets, that’s another mark on the plus side. We also like respectful candor. So, if you can tell us how to improve this job ad without pissing us off, you could be at the top of the list.
Backgrounds that would fit well for this role include creative director or high level associate creative director with an interactive agency (most of our work is on the web). Brand directors might also do well here if they’ve had a direct hand in guiding the design and copywriting across multiple channels. Creative Band Management with a company whose primary customer interaction is on the web and on the phone could really relate to our business model.
Our industry, promotional products, is pretty old school, but we’re not. We’re looking for someone who can help us be disruptive in this area. It can be really fun, fun with a purpose. We’re in business, like all businesses, to make money. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun doing it. We’re looking at this business differently, and we want a creative perspective to join us.
We mentioned we aren’t a big company, sales of $16MM, so in addition directing others, you’ll also have to pick some areas where you’ll get your hands dirty. This is as much a philosophical decision as anything else… it keeps senior managers close to the real work.
