5 promotional products to prepare your customers for disasters

Whether it’s a tornado or flood, disaster can strike at any time. Unfortunately, according to The Adelphi University Center for Health Innovation 2012 national poll, almost half of all U.S. adults don’t have disaster emergency plans in place. In fact, 44 percent of these individuals don’t even have first-aid kits. The poll also revealed that 52 percent of parents don’t have an official meeting place in the event of a disaster.

Preparing for a disaster can make all the difference in the world, so why not provide your customers with promotional items that will help them be ready for the unexpected? Here are five promotional products to prepare your customers for disaster:

“Water can be one of the main things to worry about after a disaster.”

1. Promotional bottled water

According to The Pan American Health Organization, water is one of the most important things to have on hand after a disaster. As such, it would be a thoughtful gesture to provide your customers with promotional bottled water in their disaster kits so that they will at least have clean drinking water until help arrives.

2. Solar-powered smartphone charger

If a national disaster causes the electricity to go out, your customers could find solar-powered smartphone chargers useful. While traditional chargers need to be plugged into a wall socket, these only need solar panels to charge smartphone batteries.

3. Custom LED flashlight

One of the most important tools in an emergency kit is a flashlight. However, individuals shouldn’t rely on traditional flashlights because they tend to use up batteries too quickly. LED flashlights, on the other hand, provide bright light without using too much power. If you provide your customers with LED flashlights, they can more safely navigate the scene.

4. Promotional first aid kit

A first aid kid can really come in handy during a disaster, so providing your customers with custom-printed kits could be a life saver – literally. The most important items to put in these kits include bandages, gauze pads, hand sanitizers, antiseptic wipes and over-the-counter pain relievers. If you print your company’s logo on these items, your customers will remember you for providing them with relief from scrapes, headaches and other ailments during a disaster.

5. Promotional emergency preparedness guide

Since it’s easy to panic and forget what to do in the event of a disaster, give your customers a guide with tips on how to get ready hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes and other catastrophes. Include your logo on the guide to show your consumers you care about their wellbeing.
