Get More Impressions from White Labeling Your Logo Apparel

Sometimes the more subtle something is the more impact it can have. We know that when we come across something that we expect the impression doesn’t really last. But throw something in the mix that “shouldn’t be there” and suddenly we take a second look, and the impression sticks with us.

For apparel, we want people to think about our brands as they wear them. We also want people who are around the wearer to notice the brand. When that happens, we get the impressions we want. But, what if you can get the person to whom you gave the logo shirt to talk about it when someone says “nice shirt” or even when they are not wearing it?

One way you can do this is to make the association between the shirt and the event at which they receive the shirt a memorable one. Golf outings, bowling or special recognition event will stick out in a person’s mind and give them something to talk about. These are big things.

But what about the small things. Something subtle and unexpected. This is where private labeling can have an impact on how your branded apparel is discussed even when it is not worn.

Your company name can be imprinted on the “manufacturer’s” label. This is small, yes. But entirely unexpected. It adds a nice touch and will generate conversation about the shirt.

Woven labels for many types of logo shirts can be produced and sewn into your shirts. The nice thing about this method is that you can pre-print the label, have them inventoried and then added to your shirt orders as you place them. This gives you a chance to save a bit on setup costs.

Another option is for ‘tag-less’ labels. Either through heat transfer or imprinting, your name and logo can be added to your logo shirt as a private label at runtime. This gives you the advantage of being able to adjust the label design with each run… you can be a bit more creative. Whether you can use heat transfer or imprinting will depend on the style of shirt and the capabilities of the vendor you select.

If private labels are something you are interested in using on your logo apparel be sure to mention this up front when you work with your account executive. Not all suppliers have the same capabilities and you want to be sure you select a shirt style and material that can also have the private label you want.
