Using promotional products to drive employee engagement

No matter what industry your business is in, it’s important to keep your employees engaged in their work. If your staff members are enthusiastic about their jobs, they will be more excited to come to the office every day and give 100 percent. Unfortunately, according to a 2014 Gallup report, only 31.5 percent of employees are actively engaged in their jobs. A unique way to keep your team members engaged is to give them promotional products. These branded items are thoughtful gifts that can show your employees you care about them. Here are five promotional products that your staff members will appreciate:

1. Custom Portable Power Banks
Many people rely on their cell phones to stay connected to the world, so the battery life of their mobile device is important. You’ve probably heard at least one or two of your employees complain about their phone dying in the middle of the day. To make their lives a little easier, consider giving out custom power banks. They take up less space than car and wall chargers, so employees can easily fit them in their pockets or purses. The devices also fit into most computers and can charge cell phones quickly.

2. Promotional T-shirts
If you give your employees branded T-shirts and allow them to wear this apparel to work on occasion, they may feel empowered. Instead of having to wear a snug suit to the office every day, they can put on these shirts and feel more comfortable. Your staff members might also wear these T-shirts outside of the workplace, which is great advertising for your business. Whether your employees are at the grocery store or beach, other people will see your company’s name. You can even add a personal touch to these items by printing employees’ names on the back of their T-shirts.

3. Business card holders
It’s always good for employees to have a stack of business cards on them, especially when they meet with clients. However, these cards can easily get lost or misplaced. If you give your staff members durable custom business card holders, they will stay more organized at meet and greets, something that will help your employees look more professional while promoting your business.

4. Leather journals
Whether they’re at meetings with co-workers or clients, your employees likely write a lot of notes throughout the week. Instead of having your team jot down these minutes in notebooks, give them quality custom leather journals. Your employees can get a lot of use out of these journals and will appreciate that you gave them such a great gift.

5. Earbuds
Many employees find that they focus better on their work if they listen to music. According to The New York Times, Teresa Lesiuk, an assistant professor in the music therapy program at the University of Miami, conducted a study that involved information technology specialists and discovered that individuals  who listened to music finished their work faster and thought of better ideas than those who didn’t listen to anything.

If you give your staff members custom earbuds, they can listen to their favorite tunes in the office without disturbing others.
